Privacy notice

Draft, pending legal review. This page describes what the product currently does. It isn’t a final privacy policy. Eligibility and parental-consent rules for students under 18, data-retention terms, and backup terms are still being decided and will be added before public launch.

What we collect

Your email address, used to sign you in.
What you write or enter: essays and their saved versions, prompts, colleges and dates you enter, notes, story cards, and activities.
AI results you request, stored with the inputs they used.
Your analysis choices, such as whether AI analysis and application checks are on.
Usage records for AI requests: time, feature, model, outcome, duration, token counts, and cost. Never your text.

We don’t ask for grades, test scores, family finances, or sensitive personal history, and no feature requires them.

How it’s used

To run the features you use, and to keep them working and within cost limits. See how AI reads your writing for exactly what each AI feature sends. We don’t sell your data, show ads, run third-party analytics, or use your writing to train models.

Where it’s stored

Account and writing data is stored in a Supabase Postgres database (currently in Supabase’s Canada Central region). Each account’s data is protected by row-level security, so one account can’t read another’s. The app is hosted on Vercel. AI requests go through OpenRouter to the model provider, as described on the AI page.

Export and deletion

You can export all your writing as a readable Markdown file from Settings.
Deleting an essay removes it, its versions, and its feedback from the live database immediately.
Deleting your account removes your sign-in and every row you own from the live database immediately. Copies may remain in the hosting provider’s backups until those expire, and AI providers may keep request data for a limited time under their own policies.
